The HARMONY project is proud to announce that the CRMs4EU cluster – of which we are a member – now has a unified visual identity.
Europe’s green and digital transitions rely heavily on critical raw materials (CRMs). Ensuring a stable, sustainable, and resilient supply of these materials is one of today’s major strategic challenges – and the CRMs4EU cluster is rising to meet it.
What is CRMs4EU?
CRMs4EU brings together 16 EU-funded projects working across the raw materials value chain. The cluster was created to strengthen Europe’s strategic autonomy in CRMs while supporting broader environmental and industrial objectives. With a strong collaborative foundation already in place, the introduction of a shared logo marks an important milestone in presenting the cluster’s common purpose to external audiences.
The cluster reflects a coordinated European effort to secure a reliable and responsible supply of critical raw materials. By addressing key areas such as exploration, mining, recycling and substitution, participating projects contribute to the goals of the EU Critical Raw Materials Act. These efforts help reduce Europe’s reliance on external supply chains and advance innovation that aligns with sustainability and industrial competitiveness.
HARMONY in CRMs4EU
HARMONY is advancing circular economy goals by developing innovative technologies for the recycling of rare earth magnets. We aim to reduce the EU’s dependency on primary sources of rare earth elements. Through the cluster, we connect with other forward-looking projects, contribute to collective outreach efforts, and strengthen our role in supporting Europe’s raw materials strategy.
We are also pleased to highlight that HARMONY’s communication partner, the European Science Communication Institute (ESCI), led the development of the CRMs4EU logo. This shared visual identity now serves as a symbol of the cluster’s united mission and collective impact.
A Logo that Reflects Cluster Values
The newly launched logo was developed to capture the core values of the CRMs4EU cluster. Its design elements include:
- Circular elements, symbolising both industrial innovation and circular economy principles
- Arrow motif, signifying forward motion, innovation, and progress in the raw materials sector
- Earth-toned colour palette, referencing the environmental foundations and sustainability focus of all cluster members

The logo provides a unified identity that supports joint outreach and reinforces the cluster’s role as a recognised actor within the European research and innovation ecosystem.
Strength Through Collaboration
Since its creation, CRMs4EU has served as a platform for alignment, exchange, and coordinated action among projects with a shared strategic vision. Joint activities so far include collaborative events, communication initiatives, and early-stage policy dialogue. By pooling expertise and resources, members aim to increase the impact of their individual projects and accelerate the uptake of research results that contribute to a more sustainable and resilient raw materials system in Europe.
Join the Cluster
The CRMs4EU cluster remains open to additional EU-funded projects working in raw materials, Earth observation, or sustainable supply chain innovation. To express your interest or request further information, please contact: media@esf.org or complete the short form provided.
Together, we are building a strong, collaborative ecosystem dedicated to securing a sustainable supply of critical raw materials for Europe’s future.
