HARMONY at ICEMA 2026: Special workshop on hard magnetic materials

Join HARMONY at the ICEMA 2026 magnet workshop

The HARMONY project will participate in ICEMA 2026 (International Conference on Energy Materials and Applications), taking place from May 20–23, 2026.

As part of the conference, HARMONY will host a special workshop titled:

“Hard Magnetic Materials: Development, Recycling and Applications”

The workshop is coordinated by Prof. Arcady Zhukov (University of the Basque Country & IKERBASQUE) and Dr. Mohamed Salaheldeen (University of the Basque Country).

Hard magnetic materials, such as permanent magnets, are essential for technologies including electric motors, wind turbines, MRI systems, and data storage devices. Their development and recycling play a key role in improving energy efficiency and reducing dependence on critical raw materials.

The ICEMA 2026 magnet workshop will bring together researchers and industry experts to discuss:

  • new manufacturing and recycling techniques
  • novel materials and emerging applications
  • advanced processing and characterisation
  • fundamental properties and modelling of magnetic materials

Researchers are invited to submit abstracts and papers related to these topics.

Important dates for the ICEMA 2026 magnet workshop
  • Submission deadline: April 10, 2026
  • Registration deadline: April 30, 2026
  • Conference: May 20–23, 2026
