HARMONY partner Kolektor Mobility has received a Gold Award for Innovation at the regional innovation awards organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia for the Northern Primorska region.
The award recognises the development of a polymer-bonded magnet based on 100% recycled NdFeB powder. The innovation was developed with contributions from HARMONY project activities, alongside related European initiatives.
NdFeB magnetsNdFeB magnets, also … More contain rare earth elements that are critical for electric motors, actuators, and other electromechanical systems. However, Europe still depends heavily on imported raw materials and magnet components. Recycling these materials is therefore an important step toward more circular and resilient supply chains.
Kolektor Mobility’s innovation shows how recycled NdFeB powder can be used in advanced magnet applications. According to Kolektor, the solution enables highly filled magnetic composites with improved processability, enhanced mechanical properties, and magnetic characteristics comparable to materials made from primary powders.
The award highlights the industrial potential of recycled rare earth magnet solutions. It also shows how collaboration between research and industry can help move circular magnet technologies closer to real-world use.
The innovation has now been nominated for the national competition for the best Slovenian innovations, where it will be evaluated later this year.
